Job summary
As an Associate in Fixed Income Portfolio Trading, you will help senior traders cover institutional accounts and make markets in your group's particular range of products. You will assist the team in processing, structuring and marketing portfolio trades across asset classes and you may support all aspects of the portfolio trading desk: pre-trade analysis, research on index constituent changes, inbound and outbound trade processing and the design of optimal strategies for portfolio trades. Tracking supply and demand, you constantly evaluate market developments in order to give clients and team-mates accurate product information.
Associates within the Sales & Trading teams work with top professionals to advise and facilitate transactions with a variety of institutional clients comprising of banks, fund managers, pension funds, insurance companies and hedge funds. You will learn how capital flows from the world's largest institutional investors to its most prominent borrowers and issuers.
Job responsibilities

  • Assist the senior trader in covering institutional accounts and making markets within your group's specific range of products.
  • Help the team with processing, structuring, and marketing portfolio trades across various asset classes.
  • Support all aspects of the portfolio trading desk, including pre-trade analysis, research on index constituent changes, inbound and outbound trade processing, and the design of optimal strategies for portfolio trades


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • You demonstrate entrepreneurial drive with strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • You are someone who thrives on the challenge of competitive pressures and is able to remain focused on client needs
  • You have an excellent communication skills and works well with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
  • You demonstrate expertise in Bloomberg, Excel, Power Point and MS Office skills
  • You demonstrate experience in similar role
  • You demonstrate superior time management and multi-tasking skills to juggle live transactions and daily tasks
  • You demonstrate maturity and the ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced and open environment


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • You demonstrate experience in similar role in trading
  • You demonstrate Fixed income and programming experience


This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
