Independence Tooling is actively seeking a CMM Operator to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Report to the Independence Tooling Operations Manager.
- Ensure manufactured and purchased parts conform to engineering specifications and drawings using a Hexagon CMM.
- Mark up manufactured parts for finish machining operations as required by the manufacturing routing.
- Provide subassembly personnel with inspection data when adjustments are needed to meet final accuracy requirements.
- Verify that subassemblies meet the accuracy requirements specified by engineering specifications and drawings.
- Create inspection reports from gathered data and process defective work tickets.
- Assist the Quality Manager in creating quality packages, including all deliverable documents for specific jobs/projects (Cert reports, First Article Inspections, Inspection Check Lists, R studies or R & R Studies, etc.).
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience operating a CMM machine
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with customers, peers, and subordinates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or the ability to quickly learn them
- Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays as needed, with adaptability to fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
- Hexagon CMM experience
- Familiarity with building and doweling fixtures
- Quality experience, particularly with ISO9001 and/or AS9100, is preferred
- A background in aerospace, automotive, or defense
- Proficiency with API/Verisurf, PC-DMIS, Polyworks, Spatial Analyzer, or similar software
- Experience with CMM or White Light Scanning is a plus
