Storage Architect
As a Storage Architect within the Platform Engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining storage solutions across multiple data centers and cloud environments. What you’ll be doing …
- Ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of data across storage solutions, implementing strategies to safeguard against loss or corruption.
- Oversee the performance and status of various backup operations, ensuring successful completion and swiftly addressing any issues that arise.
- Support customers in retrieving data, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient restoration of critical information.
- Administer storage and snapshot services to enhance backup operations, optimizing resource utilization and system efficiency.
- Manage and execute software upgrades for Rubrik products, ensuring the latest features, enhancements, and security patches are deployed.
- Configure and maintain backup policies, schedules, and retention settings within Rubrik to align with organizational needs and compliance requirements.
- Balance backup jobs and SLAs to optimize system performance, manage Rubrik cluster and node resources, and conduct necessary SQL agent upgrades as required.
- Monitor cloud storage expenses and implement strategies for cost control, such as data lifecycle management, right-sizing storage resources, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Design and implement cloud-based disaster recovery plans, ensuring data resilience and rapid recovery in the event of outages.
- Monitor the health, performance, and capacity of storage systems to ensure optimal functionality and prevent potential issues before they impact operations.
You will need this to be successful …
- Expert at reverse engineering large scale and complex storage management.
- Huge plus - Experience with Terraform and Ansible building and releasing Storage-as-Code (IaC).
- Must have - expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-effective storage solutions, with strong knowledge of backup and disaster recovery, cloud storage management, performance tuning, and cost control strategies.
- Extremely good at communication and comfortable with a high level of transparency.
- Ability to produce and maintain high quality network topology / architecture documentation.
- Highly collaborative attitude and able to mentor junior engineers on the team.
- Low ego.
- Certification examples: AZ-900, AZ-104, Storage Management Certification, or equivalent.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
