Title: Cloud Operations Engineer, Sr. (Multi-Cloud)
Location: Hybrid (Must be located within a 120-mile radius of Charlottesville, VA | Hybrid 4 – 6 times per month)
Clearance: Active Tops Secret (SCI Eligible)
About this role:
- Rackner is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer that will be responsible for setting up networking connections between Azure and an on prem environment and also to the AWS cloud
- Containerization, automation and scripting of infrastructure as code, configuration and integration of services, monitoring, and stability of the management infrastructure.
- Develops hardened machine images (e.g. Azure VM), ensures STIG compliance, and custom services to facilitate security inheritance.
Requirements:
- 7 years; software development experience building software solutions using Azure in a secure environment (Python / Bash preferred)
- 6 months; provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of software and infrastructure-as-code in a DevSecOps and continuous delivery environment using automation and tools such as terraform
- 2+ years; Working with Platform as a Service technologies such as Kubernetes
- 1+ year; Deploying and working with Azure Landing Zones, implementing and developing Azure policies, command-line interfaces, network technologies including DNS, load balancing, and TLS
- Operating with AWS
- Compliance with DoDD 8570.01-M IA certifications; IAT Level II baseline and computing environment certifications such as Security + and a cloud service provider certification

- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related area of study. 6 years of experience implementing IT systems may substitute for academic degree.
