The Position
As a Cloud Lab Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in conducting outsourced scientific research using Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and Cloud Labs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge science and innovation. Specifically, we seek to supplement internal datasets with large amounts of structured data made for bespoke purposes. You will be responsible for acquiring this data - not in our labs, but with remote vendors!
Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Outsourcing research in support of biopharmaceutical science.
  • Using your experience in recombinant protein production or peptide synthesis, to ensure timely deliveries from external vendors.
  • Set and control quality measurements in terms of advanced biophysical and in vitro assays.
  • Apply quality mindset to balance speed and quality of delivered results.
  • Collaborate effectively with CROs and cloud lab partners.
  • Ensure timely and successful completion through stakeholder management and good communicative skills.
  • A keen eye for details to direct concrete scientific work with cloud lab partners.
  • Present results to stakeholders, internal and external, with clarity and precision.

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this position we would expect you to recognize yourself in the below:

  • You have a PhD-degree in molecular biology, chemistry, biophysics, biomedical research or similar. Industry experience in a relevant scientific discipline could be an advantage.
  • You are experienced with general laboratory procedures and experimentation, with familiarity in recombinant protein production or peptide synthesis, including purification and QC.
  • You are familiar with scripting or high-level programming languages such as Python, C# or similar.
  • You have experience in acquisition of large data amounts from high throughput screenings or other approaches such as DoE.
  • It would be beneficial if you have experience from Cloud Labs, such as Emeral Cloud Lab.

You'll be joining our Digital Science & Innovation team, which supports the digital journey across all our therapy areas in Research & Early Development (R&ED). We work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with all areas across R&ED to leverage scientific knowledge, partner with our IT organization to ensure access to the most advanced technology platforms and tools and engage in drug development projects across the value chain.
