We are currently hiring a Cloud Infrastructure and Automation Engineer based in our Head Office.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (2 Days On Site / 3 Days Remote). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
As a Cloud Infrastructure and Automation Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing cloud infrastructure that powers our core operations. You'll leverage your advanced experience in AWS, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation frameworks, and Microsoft identity solutions to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available systems. You'll work cross-functionally with security, platform, and DevOps teams to modernize legacy systems, enforce best practices, and implement solutions that reduce technical debt and elevate operational resilience.
This is a high-impact role for a collaborative infrastructure expert who thrives on automation, documentation, and proactively driving system improvement.

What you’ll do:

Design, build, and optimize cloud environments across AWS and Azure, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architecture.

Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.

Implement and manage cloud services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and CloudFormation.

Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, configuration, and patching.

Administer and enhance Microsoft identity platforms, including Azure AD (Entra ID), Enterprise Apps, SSO, and OIDC integrations.

Manage and support Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and hybrid Windows environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance, hardening, and encryption standards.

Perform system monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure cloud workloads remain available and performant.

Document procedures, architecture designs, and operational runbooks to support team knowledge sharing and continuity.

Mentor teammates and contribute to building a collaborative, technically strong team culture.
What you bring:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a strong focus on cloud technologies.

Advanced expertise in AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation), with Azure as a bonus.

Strong Windows system administration background, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PKI.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform.

Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef.

Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell and/or other automation languages.
-
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Proven knowledge of IAM, SSO, OIDC, and identity federation concepts.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and communicate complex ideas effectively.

Passion for automation, scalability, and knowledge sharing.

Bonus Skills!

AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

Azure identity or security certifications.

The salary range for this position is $107,129.64 to $133,912.08 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
