THE OPPORTUNTY
The Cloud FinOps Senior Lead is an integral member of the Cloud Business Office team's FinOps squad which focuses on working with engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure they are leveraging the full economic potential of Cloud through sound cloud financial management.
By using both financial and technical acumen to collaborate across multiple business owners, you will drive successful IT transformation by explaining the value proposition of the Cloud model to all our business unit stakeholders, ensuring there is minimal to no waste and continuously helping optimize our usage for the greatest value to Takeda.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage critical relationships with stakeholders like engineers, Finance business partners, FinOps key stakeholders, cloud architects, and key vendors (ie. AWS).
  • Keep up to-date with latest, more performant, and cost-effective services launched by AWS, analyse its applicability to Takeda applications and promote its usage amongst engineers and business owners.
  • Promote FinOps mind-set to all the cloud-using teams while being mindful of various challenges that exist across a large application portfolio.
  • Constantly monitor cloud spend for each business unit and work with engineers to implement optimization opportunities including help advise on Reservation/Savings Plan purchases.
  • Build and maintain reports including dashboards suitable for key stakeholders of cloud.
  • Build plans, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis on cloud consumption.
  • Link activity into financial processes and cycles for example providing variance analysis to budgets during month-end reporting.
  • Ensure chargeback and show back processes are fully operational.
  • Establish guardrails / policies to detect and remove usage waste.
  • Continuously improve front door and in-life processes, ensuring the right data is captured to drive all aspects of cost transparency, optimization, and financial accountability.
  • Work with Finance teams to ensure correct accounting is applied according to Group Accounting Policy and assisting in booking accruals during financial close.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Requirements:

  • Understanding of AWS Cloud fundamentals in FinOps to manage cloud budget, forecast, spend monitoring, purchasing various commitments, deriving Cloud Cost Optimization across the organization.
  • Experience building and managing Cloud Cost analysis & visualizations using tools like Apptio, MS Excel, Power BI or any other similar tool.
  • Good with data queries, generating actionable, concise, and presentable data visualizations.


Desired:

  • Experience with developing scripts using languages like Python, SQL, and Terraform to implement automated cost optimization control & attribution policies.
  • Certification as FinOps Foundation practitioner.
  • Certification in AWS fundamentals or higher.

Salary

  • In Bratislava: As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is € 3850 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.


  • In Lodz: As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is PLN 14.600 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
