Cloud Engineer (Azure) - Senior

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) to join our team!

We need a self-motivated, energetic individual that is a technology advocate and specialist on Devops. You will oversee the migration process and design, maintain and monitor the new cloud platform, as well as configuring hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and the cloud environment. The best candidate for this role is a specialist in the design, deployment, and management of cloud services within the Microsoft Azure platform. You will bring a blend of technical skills, with the communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other members of the IT team.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available Azure cloud solutions, including exit strategies;
• Managing and monitoring cloud infrastructures for optimal performance and cost-efficiency, automating deployments with Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and ARM templates;
• Ensuring data protection and compliance, and collaborating with development teams to integrate cloud services;
• Conducting disaster recovery planning and implementing backup strategies;
• Optimising resource utilisation, keeping up to date with Azure updates, and providing technical support;
• Developing and maintaining documentation, facilitating legacy system migrations, and managing security and access controls;
• Implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) and automated data protection practices;
• Supporting cloud adoption, ensuring performance standards, and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation for technical escalations.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for Azure Cloud;
• Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization of cloud platforms;
• Experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions;
• Experience in the design, migration and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems;
• Experience working within an Agile framework;
• Experience in IaC development with Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible;
• Proficient with GIT to perform source code management;
• Experience with Terraform Cloud and Azure DevOps;
• Experience with Jira and ServiceNow;
• Competence in a wide range of IT skills including networking, systems administration, data protection, information security and CI/CD tooling;
• Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud providers is an advantage.
• Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentor teammates and cross functional partners;
• Fluency in English.
