About the Role: 

** This role is based out of Pune, India.**We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer to join our team. Overall, this role, partnering closely with the CIO, is the day-to-day accountable leader for overall cloud spend and cloud spend at a client level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing FinOps practices, optimizing and calculating/forecasting cloud spending, improving cost transparency, and fostering a culture of financial accountability. This role involves analyzing cloud usage, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and collaborating with various teams to implement best practices for cloud financial management both in aggregate and at the client level. 

You Will:

• Implement FinOps Best Practices: Develop and execute strategies to optimize cloud costs and improve financial accountability.
• Develop Cost Optimization Strategies:  
  • Create and implement strategies to optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate closely with client teams to quantify cloud cost vs. business benefit ROI for client initiatives.  
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with cloud usage. 
• Analyze Cloud Usage and Costs: 
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our cloud infrastructure, solution architecture and cost drivers.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud expenditures to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost savings.

• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, finance, and implementation teams to ensure alignment on cloud financial management.
• Implement and Manage Cost Management Tools: Utilize and manage cloud cost management tools to provide visibility and control over cloud spending.
• Generate Reports and Insights: Produce regular reports on cloud spending, savings opportunities, and financial performance.
• Educate and Train Teams: Educate team members on FinOps best practices and promote a culture of financial accountability.
• Stay Current on Industry Trends: Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and cost-saving strategies.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Responsible for creating and managing cloud budgets and forecasts, both internal and client-facing. 

What We're Looking For:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 
• 3+ years of experience in cloud financial management or a related field (cloud engineering, software engineering, etc.,).
• Proven experience in implementing FinOps practices and optimizing and forecasting cloud costs.
• Experience with containerization and serverless architectures.
• Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, DataBricks, Snowflake), cloud infrastructure and cloud services (KMS, EC2, CloudTrail, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, extracting Databricks cost data hosted via system tables).
• Experience with cost optimization strategies including rightsizing, reserved instances, and cloud native services.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling, data analysis, forecasting and reporting.

Nice to Have:

• Certifications: FinOps Practitioner certification, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
• Additional Experience: Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments, and familiarity with cloud automation tools.
