We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to join our team. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and the ability to architect, design, and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions. As an AWS Subject Matter Expert, you will provide technical leadership, consultative guidance, and best practices to our teams and clients. Experience having worked in AWS GovCloud is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture and Design:
  • Lead the design and architecture of complex cloud solutions, leveraging AWS services to meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud architecture diagrams, documentation, and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to cloud best practices, security standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Guide application modernization efforts to take advantage of cloud including AWS native services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • AWS Expertise:
  • Serve as a go-to expert on AWS services, features, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies and trends.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on AWS usage and troubleshooting.
  • DevOps and CI/CD:
  • Promote DevOps principles and practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments by implementing appropriate security measures.
  • Collaborate with security stakeholders to conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans.
  • Partner with the security-related stakeholders to ensure security requirements are implemented and followed for all cloud services.
  • Implement and manage cloud security practices, including IAM roles, security groups, encryption, and compliance, to protect cloud environments and data.
  • Performance Optimization:
  • Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions. 
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure performance to ensure high availability and cost-efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement strategies for capacity planning and scaling.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Regularly review and update standards and procedures specific to cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Drive the identification and adoption of best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services, such as EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, and more.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and database concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, consultative, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification(s) in AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) preferred.
