Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect

Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud infrastructure design, migration, and management, with a deep understanding of AWS services, cloud best practices, and architecture principles. As a Cloud Architect, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create robust, efficient cloud-based solutions that align with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture Design:
  • Lead the design and implementation of complex cloud architectures on AWS, ensuring solutions are scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure.
  • Develop cloud-native and hybrid architectures using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, and others.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into secure, cost-effective, and optimized cloud solutions.
• Migration & Modernization:
  • Architect and execute the migration of on-premises applications and infrastructure to AWS, leveraging cloud migration strategies and tools.
  • Drive cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, ensuring the smooth transition of legacy systems to the AWS cloud environment.
  • Work with development and operations teams to ensure that cloud infrastructure aligns with application needs, while promoting DevOps practices and automation.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure that the cloud architecture adheres to industry standards, security best practices, and compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2).
  • Implement secure networking, IAM, encryption, and access controls within the AWS environment.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure that data privacy, availability, and integrity are maintained throughout the cloud architecture.
• Cost Optimization & Performance:
  • Design cost-efficient cloud infrastructures, leveraging AWS pricing models and services (e.g., Reserved Instances, Spot Instances) to optimize operational costs.
  • Ensure that cloud architectures deliver optimal performance in terms of both cost and system efficiency, employing proper resource utilization, scaling, and redundancy strategies.
  • Regularly review and optimize existing AWS environments to ensure they remain cost-effective and high-performing.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and technical teams, providing recommendations and guidance on AWS cloud strategies and best practices.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including development, security, and operations, to align cloud architecture with business goals.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior architects and engineers on the cloud team.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including design patterns, network diagrams, and cloud resource inventories.
  • Provide regular reporting on cloud architecture performance, costs, and optimization efforts to key stakeholders.
  • Create and enforce architectural standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all cloud-based projects.

Required Qualifications:

• Technical Experience:
  • 15 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5+ years in cloud architecture, specifically within AWS environments.
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures, including the use of AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation, and more.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices, networking, and identity management within AWS.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration strategies.
• Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (required).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred).
  • Additional AWS certifications or cloud-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional) are a plus.
• Architectural Expertise:
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, cloud-native design patterns, and cost optimization practices.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex cloud architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration abilities to work effectively across teams and guide them through cloud adoption and architecture decisions.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to evaluate business requirements and develop optimal technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other serverless services.
• Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) with a focus on security, compliance, and audit requirements.
