ROLE BACKGROUND

CloseUp is the world’s No. 1 freshness brand in Oral Care. It pioneered the gel toothpaste format over 50 years ago and have since popularized anti-bacterial efficacy in toothpastes as well as become known for uniquely fresh and exciting flavours. CloseUp is a challenger brand in many markets, leading market development for the freshness segment and injecting fun into what otherwise would be a low involvement category.

CMI Manager, Global Closeup is a Global role for Strategic Partnership with the Global CloseUp Team reporting to Global Oral Care CMI Director. The role is based in Philippines.

JOB PURPOSE

You will play a key role in shaping the key Brand trajectory, showing the Business key growth opportunities. The role requires considerable influence in keeping the core intact, harmonizing the brand across countries and categories, and looking for how the brand can stretch in the future to new categories and formats. It also requires creating and driving winning future facing and agile innovation tapping into emergent market trends. Put simply, you will play a key role in helping the Brand and business reach its ambition. In order to grow big we need to think big. RESPONSIBILITIES

The core purpose of this role is to support the aggressive growth agenda and show the business where and how to win by championing and being the voice of the consumer. You need to be able to anticipate business partner needs before they know they need them.

  • Being the voice of consumer: Harnessing and being on top of category and brand related trends.
  • Strategic thinking for CloseUp: Strategic planning for brand at both Global and Country level.
    • Setting the long & short term growth agenda, identifying growth spots, future proofing the portfolio
    • Leveraging all the tools and insights at our fingertips/ bringing everything together to land clear and concise story that ultimately drives business action
  • Project Management: Briefing, managing, and landing all Global CloseUp projects. Project planning, brief creation/ brief ownership/ collaboration with agency and internal teams/ landing debrief/ research findings.
  • Partner: Collaborate with leadership Team comprising of Brand Directors and Category Vice President, global cross functional leadership team and the CI community.
  • Manage CMI Budgets for Global CloseUp
  • Lead, inspire and coach one assistant CMI Manager who would be located in India

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

At least 6 years of experience in market research across agency and CMI

  • Candidate with strong background in market research
  • Candidate showing strong strategic rigour with ability to decipher multiple information sources into a clear succinct story
  • Candidate with strong communication and storytelling skills who can land the point of view with stakeholders.
  • Candidate with experience of working with/managing senior stakeholders, collaboration and knowing when (and who) to pull in different expertise
  • Preference for experience in innovation development
