Education: Required - Master’s degree from an accredited university, in one of the following areas: Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or another related human services field. 

Experience: Required - 2 years of experience providing direct services to at-risk youth and families. 

Licenses: LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LCSW, LMFT-A, or LMSW.

LMFT-A, LPC-A, and LMSW clinicians must be actively pursuing full licensure, receiving external supervision by a board approved supervisor.

Supervises: Provides supervision and management to interns as assigned.

Summary: The Clinician is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population especially in crisis situations while maintaining compliance with established state and federal standards.

Essential Functions:
1. Assess personal mental health needs of clients and helps to meet those needs by providing counseling services and referrals. 
2. Implement Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with family, adolescent, and child clientele. 
3. Carry a client load as allowed by budgetary restraints.
4. Offer office or community-based therapy for individuals (children/adolescents), and family counseling to assigned families as appropriate.
5. Develop detailed Individual Treatment Plans for each client and regularly assess progress, providing updates to the Treatment Plan as needed. 
6. Maintain timely and accurate file documentation and data entry that meet the program requirements.
7. Manage assigned projects and work with staff as assigned, to include case managers/case coordinators, and interns.
8. Facilitates in-service training as needed, to educate staff on BCFS HHS policy and procedure and/or counseling related topics. 
9. Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Lead Clinician and all appropriate state and county enforcement agencies.
10. Meet all deadlines required by the Program Director, Lead Clinician, or state/federal partners. 
11. Maintain own schedule of office visits, home visits, special events, and outreach events.
12. Identify and maintain professional relationships with clients and community partners.
13. Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and case consultations if required for contract needs.
14. Perform crisis intervention techniques to ensure that youth are safe.
15. Demonstrates the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
c. Work in a fast-paced environment.
d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a 
member of a multidisciplinary team.
f. Travel as needed.
g. Manage time effectively and efficiently. 
16. Perform other duties as assigned per contract requirements. 

Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2. Complete client intake assessments and analysis to determine client needs and Treatment Plan goals and objectives.
3. Compile and analyze statistics and outcomes for grant reports.
4. Teach support skills in conflict resolution, anger management, parenting, etc., as needed.
5. Develop, monitor and review action plans designed to increase strengths, address needs, and reduce conflict in the home with clients.
6. Assist in providing information for all files and program documentation, including quarterly and monthly reports, data entry and other documentation or reports as needed, with accuracy and timeliness.
7. Locate community resources to meet additional client needs.
8. Prepare presentations, training, and facilitate groups that address topics related to child abuse prevention for community agencies, school, parents and youth. 
9. Coordinate/participate in resource fairs in the community as assigned.
10. Enter the required data for all clients in the Salesforce (BCFS) database, within 2 business days of client contact and submit monthly reports as specified by the Lead Clinician and 
Program Director.
11. Compile, prepare, submit and maintain accurate records, files, forms and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
12. Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
13. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
14. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with the required dress code, at all 
times.

Requirements:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, and LMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMFT-A, LPC-I, or LMSW.
2. Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
3. Pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug screens and always maintain emotional control and professional composure.
4. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
5. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check 
(fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)
