The Role:
Blue Owl is seeking an Associate to join the Institutional Business Development team and support client reporting efforts. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and maintain reporting for fund commitments and SMAs for both existing and prospective clients. This position supports the firm’s expanding institutional client base and offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of Blue Owl’s business. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage client reporting obligations and requirements for institutional clients' fund commitments and SMAs across all Blue Owl platforms
- Review, standardize, automate, and maintain client reporting templates and recurring requests
- Understand the data sets and sources across the firm by working closely with accounting, investment team, information technology, and business development, to ensure accurate holdings and performance reporting
- Work in partnership with the investment team and the Business Development team on designing all reporting, determining data needs, and developing insights and messages from the data
- Respond directly to clients regarding ad hoc requests for detailed analyses beyond standardized reporting packages
- Assist with the creation of an automated process to utilize our current data warehouse (IVP) to generate a standardized track record of portfolio investments with corresponding performance information while ensuring data integrity and consistency. This will include:
- Organizing the firm’s portfolio exposure and performance data to capture key statistics on all funds and investments
- Ensuring key metrics are accurately represented prior to finalization and distribution of the track record on a quarterly basis
- Gaining proficiency in various systems to understand how portfolio data is captured and sourced within our current data warehouse
- Build upon existing models and the IVP data warehouse with added tools, including reporting interfaces and dashboard designs
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in financial services required (leveraged finance, private equity, real estate, alternative asset management, investment banking, capital markets, and/or consulting experience strongly preferred)
- B.S. in Finance/Accounting or Computer Science, Information Technology, or business-related field (or equivalent work experience). Master’s degree in related field considered a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
- Proficiency in python is preferred
- Exceptional work ethic, positive attitude and collaborative team-oriented disposition
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to grasp and distill complex concepts
- Self-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required
- Excellent attention to detail with high standard for precision

- High degree of discretion with the ability to handle proprietary and/or sensitive information regularly and with integrity
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $110,000 to $130,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
