Role Summary:
The Middle Office Product Onboarding Manager will manage the end-to-end onboarding process of new financial vehicles while supporting, developing, and managing the client onboarding team. This role involves coordinating with various internal teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing the process to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The candidate we're looking for should have an investment operations background, strong project management skills, outstanding attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively. They must be capable of inspiring change within the team and organization.
To succeed in this role, you must provide relationship management services, operations expertise, and risk management across multiple products and asset classes with the primary objective of investment readiness. You are also responsible for the analysis of opportunities, this role will enable operational excellence, improve efficiency and effectiveness, and drive issue resolution to address gaps.
Responsibilities:
- Product Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new financial vehicles: institutional clients, CITs, ETFs, Mutual Funds, SMA & Model portfolios; ensuring investment readiness.
- Coordination: Collaborate with front office, back office, compliance, risk management, and IT teams to ensure seamless product integration.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all onboarding activities follow relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Operational Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the onboarding process.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during the onboarding process, providing regular updates and addressing any issues that arise.
- Vehicle Gatekeeper: Operate as a primary point to ensure all aspects of the product are in good standing for market release: external setups (custody/fund administration, market readiness (market onboarding), internal reference data, trading agreements, reporting, etc.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of onboarding activities and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Training: Provide training and support to team members and other collaborators on the onboarding process and related systems.
- Team Management: Lead, support, and develop the client onboarding team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. This includes setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and ensuring the professional growth and development of team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, another related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a middle office or product onboarding role within the financial services industry.
- 3-5+ years of experience managing others, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building skills including conflict resolution, mentorship, performance management, and delegation.
- Strong understanding of financial products and regulatory requirements.
- Strong background in investment operations – solid understanding of trade life cycle, market participants, and vehicle structures.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems.
