The client account specialist is the central point of contact for customers and is responsible for managing day-to-day activities and communications. Responsible for booking loads and ensuring customer requirements for the loads are communicated to appropriate operations personnel. Maintains timely communications with customers on status of loads. May be required to solicit business with existing customers. The Client Account Specialist works closely with operations personnel, sales and third-party vendors.

Salary Range: $49,000 - $61,250
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies and understands customer requirements
- Reviews all order tenders and works to ensure coverage is met as requested
- Reviews primary and non-primary lanes
- Works to cover overflow and chemical critical request
- Reviews and verifies customer requirements are accurate and up to date.
- Reviews and verifies customer directions and contacts are correct.
- Completes required reports and analyses for customers.
- Load Scheduling & Booking
- Builds and accepts load tenders
- Works with service center operations to schedule load appointments (May vary based on shipment origin).
- Complies with company transit standards.
- Obtains SDS on all new products, verifies product SDS are current and accurate
- Reviews all load information and requirements before committing to the load. Review new products with tank wash department, equipment planners, and driver managers
- Manage all shipment changes and communicate the changes to Highway personnel.
- Responsible for turning loads back and providing best-case to cover loads when capacity is tight.
- Revenue and Accessorial Management
- Understands the customer tariff and accessorial
- Audits loads for any additional accessorial charges
- Communicates additional charges to the customer and billing department
- Fills capacity gaps as needed by reaching out to customers.
- Stay up to date on current capacity at each service center
- Continues to seek new skills, expertise, and knowledge of job assignments.
- Interacts with employees and customers to facilitate a positive working relationship.
- Proactive in improving the customer's performance metrics.
- Oversee the entire chemical critical shipment from beginning to end.
- Dedicated driver operations – Manage a fleet of dedicated businesses working directly with the customer, drivers, loading facilities, and billing department.
- Review, monitor, and management of account scorecards
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1+ years customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in transportation logistics/operations is preferred.
- Transportation Management software experience is a plus

- Must be able to work in all Microsoft software products with emphasis on Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Majority of the time will be spent in the office.
- Occasional afterhours and weekend work may be required.
