Our Team:
The Thales Australia AWS business offers ship repair, maintenance and asset management / in-service support capabilities for commercial and naval ships in Australia. The business also offers the provision of docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance within Garden Island.
The Role:
Opportunity for an experienced Class Manager to oversee the maintenance services for a key naval asset class. This role ensures that all performance obligations are met while driving operational effectiveness, safety, and maintenance optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with seaworthiness, safety, cost, and quality objectives.

Interface with customers on technical and operational matters.
-
Oversee maintenance period planning and execution to meet mission readiness.

Lead planning conferences and risk management activities.
-
Ensure compliance with Defence Security and HSE policies.
-
Drive collaboration and service excellence within the team.
What You’ll Bring:
-
Qualifications in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or marine engineering
-
Experience in ship-related technical or maintenance management roles.
-
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
-
Experience with naval maintenance and asset management.
-
Proficiency in ship building, repair, maintenance, and Navy ship systems.
-
Understanding of Navy engineering and maintenance systems is desirable
-
Familiarity with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSwMS).
