Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform a variety of engineering functions under direction of Senior Professional Engineer
  • Prepare engineering studies and reports
  • Project coordination and project management of Special Inspection and Construction Materials Testing work
  • Perform special inspections, various field inspections, and materials testing as needed (soils, concrete, masonry, steel)
  • Perform test boring/test pit observations, laboratory analysis, and preparation of geotechnical calculations and reports
  • Supervise and support project team, as necessary
  • Implement Quality Assurance, and assurance of field and laboratory adherence to technical standards and applicable codes
  • Engage in continuing education to develop skills and keep certifications current

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or related
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certificate
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Functional knowledge of industry practices and regulations, NY State Building Code, and engineering standards as needed to perform Quality Assurance requirements and engineering designs as required
  • Possess ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, co-workers and clients through clear communication and proactive progress reporting
  • Possess excellent organizational skills are necessary to be able to manage multiple projects, each with schedules and budgets
  • Familiarity with construction materials, procedures and documents a plus
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Compensation: $24 - 30/hour
