Job Summary: Rackspace is proud to announce we have partnered with a new client, and to appropriately support them we need to hire a Director of Technical Support. This person will be leading a large team of Rackers, and together they will be designing and architecting a new solution for Rackspace Data Centers and migrate the client’s current infrastructure into our newly designed one. Work Location:
· 100% Remotely.
· Prefer candidates living in either the West Coast or the state of Texas.
· Occasional travel roughly 10% per year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide the team with technical expert, engineering, and technical leadership for the enterprise-wide Citrix infrastructure.
- Provide escalation support for issues that cannot be resolved by junior engineers.
- Provide instruction, direction and quality assurance of other engineers.
- Work directly with business customers and architects to identify requirements and create technical solutions to satisfy those requirements.
- Lead and manage projects in collaboration with business requirements and other infrastructure teams.
- Help train and mentor junior engineers.
- Support the Citrix suite of information system(s) and processes with the goal to meet or exceed defined service levels for application and desktop delivery, and includes responsibility for implementing software changes, trouble-shooting complex problems, and providing end-user education.
- Install and configure server hardware and software consistent with standards; develop new and modify existing standards where necessary.
- Identify design requirements and recommendations for capacity, technical currency and future direction.
- Provide oversight and task delegation for junior engineers in infrastructure buildouts.
- Research and develop parameters for capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization.
- Evaluate, recommend and deploy third-party client and server tools to meet evolving business.
- Forecast and recommend short- and long-term strategies, lead implementation of those strategies.
- Plan and implement complex, technical solutions and architecture.
- Design and lead projects in the implementation and support of a highly available Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environment.
- Assist in ensuring stability and functionality of the assigned systems.
- Provide escalation support, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of Citrix infrastructure issues (including XenApp, XenServer and XenDesktop, Access Gateway, Password Manager).
- Assist in identifying and trouble-shooting information system problems, including isolating problems, recommending appropriate solutions and implementing solutions.
- Work closely with Windows Server team to maintain Citrix Infrastructure Servers and Desktops compliant with organizational standards and policies delivered with Citrix Provisioning Server.
- Manage and maintain enterprise profile management across the XenApp and XenDesktop deployments.
- Manage and maintain Citrix specific areas of Active Directory and Group Policy structure; adhere to change control policies.
- Perform technical analysis, installation, maintenance & modification of systems and software.
- Monitor, analyze and report on system performance. Update problem tickets in a timely manner (creating, researching, referring, and closing).
- Proactively monitor infrastructure hardware, operating systems and applications
- Follow best practices in performance tuning and optimization to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks.
- Research and implement improved monitoring, logging and reporting practices and techniques.
- Follow established procedures in the creation of detailed Change Management documentation, and in planning and implementation of complex modifications to production infrastructure environments, mentor junior engineers in Change Management processes and disciplines.
- Develop and implement standards as necessary to support ongoing process improvement
- Lead other engineers and identify risk areas for audits.
- Create, review and maintain appropriate documentation in support of all job duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study.
- Preferred candidates who are either Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE) or Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) certified.
- Overall, 10 years of related experience.
- Minimum of five years of team management experience.
- Experienced with the following technologies: Citrix, Nutanix, VDI,
- Five years’ experience with Server or Desktop Virtualization.

•The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $103,100 - $151,140.
•The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $112,900 -$165,550.
