THE ROLE
We are looking for a Chief Engineer who is both operation- and solution-focused to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our brand new building, including all guest rooms, spaces, and amenities. This individual will proactively manage day-to-day operations while quickly resolving any guest issues at our exciting new full-building property in Washington DC. The ideal candidate enjoys being hands-on and fostering a service-oriented culture to serve our guests and support each other.
AT MINT HOUSE YOU WILL
- Perform preventative and repair maintenance to ensure the property meets quality and brand standards
- Address guest and tenant repair requests promptly, prioritizing satisfaction to improve service scores
- Follow a proactive maintenance schedule to anticipate and address potential issues, ensuring a seamless guest experience
- Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, elevators, electrical systems, sprinklers, and other building infrastructure
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and submit purchasing requests to the General Manager
- Coordinate and support 3rd-party contractors, including painters, installers, and other specialists
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while performing maintenance, repair, and installation tasks
- Lead the maintenance team, delegating tasks to ensure efficient upkeep and property management
- Provide daily updates to the General Manager and staff via Slack and Operto Teams on activities and issues
- Ensure the property adheres to LEED standards, focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency
- Develop and document SOPs for maintenance procedures in collaboration with the General Manager to maintain high operational standards
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 4 years in a maintenance management role, with required experience in a hotel setting
- HVAC & LEED certification highly preferred; a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is essential
- Experience managing full building maintenance operations, with a strong ability to build and foster vendor relationships
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve independently as well as be a reliable team player who is willing to jump in when needed with other aspects of daily operations
- Proficient in GSuite and our tech stack, with the ability to maintain up-to-date inventory of maintenance supplies; comfortable and eager to learn new software systems as part of our tech-driven operation
- Understand the importance of attention to detail and effective communication while interacting with guests and our virtual guest agent team
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and have a guest-centric attitude
- Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
Compensation Range: $80,000 - $90,000 USD.
