Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Architect to oversee the architecture of a complex ecosystem of custom-built software and licensed enterprise applications. This role involves hands-on development and ownership of the architecture roadmap, ensuring the seamless integration and performance of our overall technology solutions. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategy.
  • Provide technology leadership to the development team.
  • Lead hands-on development efforts, providing technical guidance and mentorship to the development team. Participate in code reviews and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize software solutions. Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, including developers, product managers, and executives.
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of the software architecture.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the architecture.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the architecture and development processes.
  • Provide thought leadership and represents ISC externally in technology conferences and events. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in an architecture leadership role.
  • Proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, including .NET, Java, JavaScript and SQL.
  • Hands on experience with a wide range of database technologies, including leading RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) and noSQL DBs.
  • Experience overseeing the design and implementation of enterprise data warehouses. Snowflake expertise a plus.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining containerized microservices architectures.
  • Experience with vector databases, machine learning and GenAI – a strong plus
  • Experience in the claims or insurance industry – a strong plus
  • Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis or IBM MQ – a plus  
  • Strong innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor and collaborate with development teams. 


The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.

ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

National Pay Range

$200,000$260,000 USD
