Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. Within IB&M technology our mission is to combine the next generation of technology, with leading banking and markets capabilities to help our clients succeed. We’re building empowered and autonomous engineering teams that are product focused and responsible for end-end delivery.
As the Chapter Lead for Murex Front Office Engineering, you will oversee the implementation and management of the groups Murex FO technology platform whilst working closely with the team’s technical delivery capability and Markets business to ensure that the groups technology supports the businesses strategic plans. You will be leading engineers that report to you, instilling a growth mindset and innovative ways of working.
You’ll play an important role in steering the organisation by providing expert advice relating to technology, solution design and architecture, people leadership and hiring. You will bring a perfect blend of people management and technical expertise and will be responsible for shaping the evolution of the technical squad by contributing to the technology strategy, drafting quarterly crew memos, prioritising backlog, defining delivery roadmaps, and deciding which problems to invest in solving.

Extensive experience managing and leading Murex technical teams.

Strong technical expertise in Murex with strong Front Office development and product knowledge.

Strong in depth understanding of Financial and Capital markets.

Have demonstrated experience in leading high-performing cross-functional engineering teams with a solid technical background.

Effectively communicate engineering practice standards and consistent ways of working across squads and CBA that align to global best practice.

Drives a true DevSecOps mindset, where engineering owns what they build and truly value customer feedback.

Have worked with a wide group of enablers, including user experience designers, customer operations, accessibility advocates and product owners.

Promote open communication and create a safe working environment where our engineers’ voices are heard to achieve great outcomes for our organisation, our customers, and the community.

Tech Skills
We use a broad range of tools, methodologies, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these key technology skills will set you up for success in this team:

Technical expertise in Murex Front Office Engineering.

Experience implementing or leading teams leveraging Cloud technologies - either AWS (preferred) or Azure.

Achieving high levels of autonomy by leveraging CICD pipelines, preferable on Cloud.

Experience leading Agile delivery teams aligned to the DevSecOps framework.

Highly skilled in the use of Jira.

Strong leadership and people management.
