We are seeking a hard-working, dynamic Certification Specialist Supervisor within our Affordable Housing portfolio who is detail oriented, enjoys new challenges, and thrives within a deadline driven schedule. This position works remotely and reports to the Director of Compliance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to function autonomously while also working in conjunction with coworkers in other areas. The responsibilities of the Certification Specialist Supervisor include, but are not limited to: monitoring and implementing changes in HUD and LITHC regulations and requirements, maintaining proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according to regulations, managing and maintaining assigned affordable housing portfolio (including tenant file reviews, audits onsite file reviews, certifications, transmit property rental assistance into state housing programs, and input tenant certifications into property management software), and facilitating training programs for site teams to inform and educate on requirements and responsibilities.
This is a remote position with some in-person work required.
You Have:
- Minimum COS certification or similar certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of affordable housing regulations such as HUD, LIHTC, AHP, HAP, etc.
- Strong computer skills and experience with property management software (Onesite preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of administrative, file compliance, and affordable housing experience
- Working knowledge of applicable local and federal housing laws, including Fair Housing, Landlord and Tenant laws
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to handle stressful and demanding situations in a calm, effective, and organized manner
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- LIHTC lease-up experience
- Proven ability to build trust with members of a community with different cultures and backgrounds in order to obtain information and solve problems
- Ability to do some travel as needed
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
