An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced and strategically minded Category Manager to join Aristocrat’s Global Indirect Strategic Sourcing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The main purpose of this role is to develop and execute Category Plans/Strategies and sourcing projects across a cluster of Indirect spend categories. The role will require you to act as part of an integrated Australia-US based team, in partnership with business stakeholders on a whole-of-lifecycle basis.
What You'll Do
- Be part of the Logistics, Facilities and Operations Category Portfolio team – with a focus on Category discovery, Strategy development and project delivery.
- Work in a consultative manner with project team/stakeholders to develop category plans and implement sourcing strategies and manage vendor relationships across multiple categories.
- Source suppliers at market through closely managed and often complex RFx processes. This includes analyzing business needs, generating options, determine optimal solutions, conducting supplier selection, contract negotiation and implementation in consultation with a project team and interfacing with Legal/Privacy/Risk and other functions within our business environment.
- Renewal strategies and direct negotiation with existing suppliers across all relevant categories as required.
- Build and maintain strong business partnerships with internal stakeholders across the enterprise and external stakeholders.
- Engage with assigned key internal stakeholders and partner with them, working together to ensure positive outcomes that meet business requirements.
- Execute long-form Agreements/Contracts which are consistent with Aristocrat Sourcing and P2P guidelines.
- Interface with Operational Indirect Buying team to ensure Purchase Orders are initiated, ensuring key contractual flow-downs are documented.
- Maintain a pipeline of cost saving initiatives and ensure timely execution and delivery to contribute to the achievement of IGSS team’s financial target.
- Maximize business value derived from key supplier relationships by building and maintaining a strong working knowledge of the supply market conditions and supplier capabilities for the sourcing categories.
- Aligning with the analytics team lead to ensure understanding key areas of spend, upcoming contracts renewals, necessary RFPs, or key procurements.
- All other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
This role requires the development of strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, working as part of a project team, as well as maximizing value derived from external partnerships across multiple categories. Therefore, our ideal candidate must be highly resilient, have a proven track record of managing stakeholders at a cross functional level in a collaborative and proactive manner.
- Tertiary qualifications – Bachelor of Business, Commerce, Finance or Supply Chain or related are desirable.
- At least 4 years demonstrated procurement/sourcing and/or category management experience in large complex organizations is essential for the success of this role.
- A strategic and creative sourcing professional who:
- Excels at addressing commercial challenges and identifying business opportunities.
- Has extensive experience in Indirect category management within large, complex organizations.
- Experience in Indirect category management, desirable to have knowledge in:
- Facilities (Utilities, Janitorial, Security services).
- Operations (fleet, material handling, packaging, maintenance).
- Logistics (3PL, 4PL, ground, ocean, air, customs, warehousing).
- Experience in developing and managing project-specific sourcing across multiple categories.
- Ability to complete deal structuring and delivery of commercial options for stakeholders.
- Highly developed commercial negotiation and influencing skills.
- Solid project management skills - ability to lead cross-functional sourcing teams on assigned projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain transparent relationships with all stakeholders.
- Maintains high level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to transition as required to relevant category / project.
- Excellent quantitative/analytical/problem solving skills.
- Intuitive commercial problem-solving skills, excellent business acumen.
- Exceptional RFx process rigor.
- Self-confident with an ability to accept and respond to challenges in a positive manner
