As Category Manager, you will implement sourcing strategies in the Americas for defined Raw Material Categories. As an important member of the Global Procurement team, you'll negotiate, work with a variety of teams and matrix organizations to manage annual purchases for assigned portfolios. You will report to a Senior Category Manager at the Pittsburgh, PA office.
Responsibilities:
- Implement global sourcing strategy in the Americas Region for your category that aligns with our needs, mitigates identified risks, and maximize value opportunities for PPG globally.
- Negotiate with suppliers at regional levels to secure raw materials needed with advantageous terms for PPG.
- Establish accurate forecasted raw material market movements and communicate movements with global category managers.
- Build relationships with important suppliers and partners in Americas region.
- Align and collaborate with PPG category managers to deliver savings and working capital targets to bring value to the bottom line.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or related field
- 5-7 years in chemical industry, petroleum, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or food industries.
- Proven data analysis and critical thinking skills
- Experience in change management
