The position
As Category Manager, your primary role involves securing supply within the sourcing category of Single Use Systems, Single Use Components, and Tubes.
Alongside skilled colleagues, you will drive the development of category strategies, shaping the direction of your category over the next 5 to 10 years, conduct sourcing events and negotiations, and manage supplier relations, having present the SSIMS core perspectives; Cost, Delivery, Quality, Sustainability and Risk.
Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing category strategies, identifying relevant sourcing opportunities and mitigating risks
  • Analysing market trends, suppliers, spend data, owning the sourcing strategy for how to secure supply both short- and long-term
  • Sourcing and contracting materials within the category, preparing negotiation strategies and ensuring contracts align with corporate guidelines
  • Providing clear recommendations, building business cases, and presenting to key decisions-makers at all levels and across the entire organization
  • Collaborating strategically with suppliers, addressing supply issues and/ or driving supply opportunities, as well as supply chain optimisation
  • Acting as a sparring partner to colleagues and stakeholders, facilitating meetings and workshops, actively supporting best practices and continuous improvement


Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we imagine you:

  • Hold a master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, strategic management, or a related field
  • Demonstrate practical experience in strategic sourcing, strategy development, procurement or supply chain, within a complex organisation OR
  • Bring global supply chain project management experience from a multinational, with a keen interest in advancing to a strategic role
  • Showcase strong communication and stakeholder management skills, effective-ly building solid relationships internally and externally, with suppliers
  • Display proficiency in both spoken and written English


It would be considered as a strong advantage if you have experience with sourcing toolbox or tendering.
On a personal level, you are a strategic thinker with a holistic view. You have strong communication skills, allowing you to influence decision-making and navigate a com-plex sourcing environment. Confident in securing commitment from both internal and external stakeholders, you work proactively and independently, while thriving in cross-functional project teams. About the department
In Strategic Sourcing Inbound Materials & Services, we are responsible for supporting Product Supply by securing capacity at suppliers for inbound materials and services to internal production facilities. Here, we have a wide set of capabilities spread across three category departments and two Centres of Excellence, with around 80 employees currently located in Bagsværd but moving to Taastrup by approximately February 2025.
You will join the Bioprocessing & Raw Materials department which is responsible for all the bioprocessing and raw materials used globally by Novo Nordisk. We secure timely, robust, long-term supply, securing manufacturing of NN Products, through SSIMS Core Disciplines, maximizing value creation for Novo Nordisk in alignment with NN strategy.
