Position Summary
We are looking for clever, resourceful, and unrelenting individuals at the entry level ready to brave the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare receivables to contribute to our Healthcare Services Billing department. The Cash Applications Specialist will be responsible for leading cash application functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities

Experience with posting payments from explanation of benefits (EOB’S).

Assures all monthly, weekly and daily deadlines are met in the cash applications process.

Complies with established company criteria for accuracy of cash application.

Balancing to entries posted in ledger.

Prepares and reconciles bank deposit.

Identifies and resolves credit balance accounts.

Utilizes relevant aspects of various coding systems as directed including HIPAA standard Remit, Reject, HCPCS, CPT, ICD-9.

Prepares various cash application spreadsheets, reports and statistics.

Research and resolve refund and electronic posting issues, identified by AR teammates.

Researches and prepares refund request form.

Identifies and coordinates remittance issues with accounts receivable departmental staff.

Special projects as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Physical Demands
-
Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.

May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemicals including formalin in the lab environment.

Occasional lifting of items up to 35 lbs. is required when installing some IT equipment.

This is a full-time position and hours will be within the 8-5 timeframe; Monday-Friday.
