Job Description:

  • Responsible for safe and timely Capex function of Ankleshwar site. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and manage overall master schedule integrating work breakdown structure. Understand work scope, quantity and logical sequences in terms of engineering, manufacturing and construction disciplines.
  • Coordinate schedule from multiple contractors and incorporate the information gathered into the overall project master schedule.
  • Evaluate allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress.
  • Track, monitor and forecast progress of all activities and deliverable such as Materials, engineering documents, fabrication status and construction of all discipline.
  • Coordinate timely flow of engineering documents, certificates, test reports and inspection reports.
  • Follow up approvals of documents/drawings from respective discipline engineers. Receive execution schedules from suppliers. Carry out desk as well as field expediting visits to speed up deliveries.
  • Handle any delivery inconsistencies and exercise judgment with defined procedures and practices to deliver appropriate action.
  • Identify progress milestones and resolve issues. Take remedial action in case of slippage.
  • Identify potential delays to the agreed schedule. Initiate remedial actions like commit more manpower, subcontract part of purchase order, reschedule work activities, offer alternative materials etc. Obtain prior approval from the Project Manager for any technical change involving significant work.
  • Update expediting report and timely inform management highlighting problematic areas with suitable recommendations.
  • Prepare spend forecast, monitor & control spends, authorize joint measurement sheets & highlight deviations from the forecast.
  • Responsible for evaluating new equipment designs and verify design engineering calculations.
  • EHS responsibilities:
    • To follow site EHS procedure and best practices.
    • Read and understand relevant procedure and perform the work safely.
    • Support site EHS in safety campaign, Safety observations to prevent the injuries.
    • Follow the site PSM procedure and implement the PSM culture.
    • Field activities management for all Project contractors with full EHS & Regulatory Compliance.
    • Participate in Hazop and PSSR activity with cross function team as and when required.

    • This position operates indoors as well as outdoor setting up to 70% of the time in a manufacturing environment and exposed to all weather elements, heat, cold, dirt, dust, vibrations, odors/unpleasant smells, loud noises and chemicals.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • Demonstrate strong Safety leadership and good working knowledge on safe work practices, hazards associated with the chemistry and process safety management (PSM)
  • Effective communication, human relation, and organizational skills to work effectively with team/workgroup or those outside the formal line of authority to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Possesses strong technical background & good analytical skills to support decision making.
  • Possesses a curious open mind to encourage Innovation.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Experience of SAP PM/MM module, Microsoft Projects.

Required Experience:

4 to 6 years of experience in the field of Project Planning, Project Execution & Project Management in Chemical manufacturing industry

Required Education:

Min Degree in Mechanical Engineering
