Call for Technical Experts – USAID RENDA VERDE, Mozambique
Winrock International works with people around the world to increase economic opportunities, sustain natural resources, and protect the environment. Winrock is seeking expressions of interest from technical experts for a five-year U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Activity in Mozambique called RENDA VERDE. The Activity seeks to boost communities in leveraging the benefits of living in nature across key biodiversity conservation areas and benefit local people through sharing of nature-based revenue. In addition to ongoing enforcement to dissuade and punish destruction of natural resources and habitats, this Activity will focus on the tangible incentives of living with nature, seeking to catalyze the market and community benefits of human coexistence with wildlife in harmony across conservation areas, buffer zones, and key biodiversity corridors.
POSITION DETAILS
Winrock International is seeking qualified candidates for short-term and long-term technical assistance roles with expertise in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Marine and terrestrial biodiversity conservation
- Nature-based solutions
- Community-based natural resource management
- Protected area management
- Nature-based value chain strengthening
- Ecotourism
- Climate adaptation and resilience
- Rural markets systems development
- Gender, youth, and social inclusion
- Private sector engagement
- Sustainable financing

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant area of expertise
- Work Experience:
- Seven (7) years of relevant technical experience in conservation and/or development projects in Mozambique and/or southern and eastern Africa
- Experience on a USAID-funded projects preferred
- Skills:
- Fluency in Portuguese required; English proficiency is an asset
- Demonstrated experience working with relevant government, civil society, and private sector actors within relevant technical area(s)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
