About The Position 

This position involves providing direct administrative, technical, and research support to special projects and partnerships. The Senior Associate/Business Analyst will collaborate with staff and other business lines to ensure the effective management of DFC’s investment pipeline, improve investment operations, and coordinate business development.  

The DFC is the U.S. Government’s development finance institution and works to mobilize and facilitate the participation of American private capital and skills in the economic and social development of emerging market economies. The DFC’s senior management team works closely with DFC's business lines to drive investments that help create sustainable and inclusive global prosperity and stability.  

This position is contingent upon award.  

Interested applicants with an experience supporting International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the former Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are encouraged to apply.  

Responsibilities 

  • Provide a wide range of advisory and analytical services to staff on key areas of operation, including management of DFC’s investment pipeline; managing and improving investment operations; and, coordinating business development across DFC, including through the growing DFC presence overseas. 
  • Provide direct administrative, technical, and research support to special projects and partnerships, including collaborating with staff and other business lines  
  • Support the development and implementation of operational strategies and process improvements with the aim of delivering better investment outcomes, increasing efficiency, and providing a superior experience for clients in collaboration with other DFC offices and may focus on areas such as business development activities, transaction review, investment process, and portfolio monitoring  
  • Deliver meaningful and actionable analyses and recommendations, which can be implemented to improve business performance.  
  • Assist in special projects, including support for staff engagement in meetings, conferences domestically and overseas; partnership engagements with other development finance institutions and investors.  
  • Develop communications products that highlight DFC efforts (e.g., blogs, articles, talking points, press releases)  
  • Engage with DFC and the interagency on strategic/priority transactions.  
  • Create specific work products including market landscape analyses designed to inform Agency leadership, PowerPoint decks, briefing memos, and talking points in preparation for events, meetings and business development opportunities, blog posts, and drafts of articles  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned  
  • Handles all inquiries promptly, responding to emails and phone calls within two business days. Performs daily tasks with courtesy and professionalism, alongside other assigned duties to include:  

- Onboarding and Training Development: Develop and implement a thorough onboarding and training program for overseas offices, focusing on cultural sensitivity, local business practices, and DFC-specific operational protocols, while tailoring materials to suit various roles within these offices. 

- Administrative and Operational Management: Key responsibilities include, drafting official communications such as cables and congressional notifications; track the progress of office openings, monitoring security clearances, Office of Information Technology (OIT) readiness, and personnel onboarding processes; provide problem-solving support; coordinate and schedule interviews and craft comprehensive position descriptions; lead and direct cross-functional teams to standardize and document processes for establishing new overseas offices. 

- Webpage Design and Content Creation: Design and maintain a user-friendly webpage aimed at facilitating business development coordination, featuring essential resources like templates, FAQs, and sector-specific guidance documents, with regular updates to ensure content relevance and accuracy. 

- General Support Services: Tasks includes taking meeting notes and producing clear meeting minutes, preparing reports, presentations, and slide decks for both internal and external use, and analyzing data to enhance operational effectiveness and support business development in overseas offices.  

Qualifications 

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.  
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field. 
  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in a related finance or consulting field, including impact investing, development or emerging market finance, investment or business advisory services, or management consulting.  
  • Specialized experienced required include data analysis including strong excel skills, market research, communications, and has a resume demonstrating the ability to perform such duties and responsibilities.  
  • Knowledge and skills in formulating and recommending new policies, processes or strategies.  
  • Ability to communicate with skill both verbally and in writing.  
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with representatives internally and externally to DFC.  
  • Knowledge of management and organizational principles and practices along with a knowledge of planning, programming, prioritizing, and skill in gathering data and preparing reports for formal review and analysis  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in a related field.   
  • At least 5 -7 years of experience in a related finance or consulting field, including impact investing, development or emerging market finance, investment or business advisory services, or management consulting.
