Duties and Responsibilities
- Material Planning and Procurement: Monitor current inventory levels and future demand to place timely purchase orders. Ensuring consistent and adequate supply of all materials necessary for production. Coordinate with other departments/ groups regarding production schedules, timelines, testing times, supplier payments, etc. Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products. Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, cancellations and product quality issues. Schedule regular open order review meetings with suppliers, updating SAP delivery data as needed.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Responsible for supplier management activities for the Milford manufacturing facility; these include problem resolution, project management, open order review and supplier performance reporting. Also, ensures continuity and reliability of supply and mitigates operational risks. Monitor supplier performance and schedule regular business review meetings with key suppliers.
- Customer Interaction: Represent the Supply Chain function at internal and joint Project team meetings. Provide updates to customers on inventory levels, campaign readiness, and risk mitigation plans.
- Spend and Saving Management: Review and analyze spend and savings; identify and develop improvement opportunities to aggregate spending and simplify procurement related processes for raw material and consumable categories.
- Strategic Sourcing Collaboration: Responsible for contributing to the global category teams in the development, communication, and approval of sourcing strategies, collecting and providing regional business requirements and regional supply market information and supply practices. Analyze regional category spend to identify opportunities to reduce individual contract/sub-category spend utilizing all savings levers. Support business case development for larger regional and or global initiatives
- Stakeholder Management: Interacts with multiple levels of management across the enterprise to discuss sourcing obstacles and provide progress updates and program performance results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3 + years demonstrated experience as a supply chain professional in a GMP/Pharmaceutical environment
- Experience with ERP system, SAP a plus
- Strong analytical abilities specific to Procurement (Supplier performance, Cost BOMs, etc.)
- Experience with project management and supplier relationship management
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation. Comfortable presenting to senior management
- Price Negotiation
- Use leverage of overall Rentschler volumes negotiate best possible Rentschler conditions
- Sourcing
- Use existing vendors and establish standard Rentschler products; source secondary vendors as required
- Local Procurement
- Maintain local procurement activities with regional suppliers
- Experience in the direct & indirect commodities
- Excellent knowledge in software (Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and data base management software (i.e., Excel, Lotus)
- Excellent communication skills to frequently interact with external suppliers (local, regional, and global) and many internal functions
- Must have a positive attitude and great work ethic, good time management skills, excellent listening skills, critical thinking skills, deductive reasoning skills, detailed oriented, and be able to meet strict deadlines
