The Buyer is responsible for maintaining material schedules and coordinates products through the complete production cycle, evaluates and analyzes data regarding processes and systems, resolves problems with inventory, production schedules, or materials shortages, stock outs and recommends procedures or process to avoid future problems. Also, key responsibilities include communicating and coordinating with suppliers to ensure continuous supply of product avoiding/eliminating stock outs, meeting quality and delivery standards, resolving any vendor line-stopping issues, setting up inventory goals and monitoring them, developing action plans and countermeasures with planner/buyers, development and factory teams for inventory control, supporting the purchasing team in financial objectives. Responsible for the implementation of kanban using DMS tools provided by Danaher.
This position reports to the Procurement Manager and is part of the Supply Chain Department located in Fajardo facility and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
- Maintaining material schedules and coordinates products through the complete production cycle.
- Good communication and coordination with suppliers to ensure continuous supply of product avoiding/eliminating stock outs, meeting quality and delivery standards, resolving any vendor line-stopping issues, setting up inventory goals and monitoring them.
- Responsible for the implementation of kanban using DMS tools provided by Danaher.
- Develop action plans and countermeasures with planner/buyers, development and factory teams for inventory control, supporting the purchasing team in financial objectives.
Who you are
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain / Logistics, Engineering or a related field.
- EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years in a related field is preferred. Understands Lean concepts, also experience with Kanban preferred.
- LANGUAGE: English fluency required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel – Travel of less than 10% is required and may exceed these levels at times. Travel regions may include but are not limited to US and Europe.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Kanban implementation
