Job Purpose
To procure raw materials and components to meet manufacturing schedules, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency while delivering exceptional service.
Main Duties
You will be procuring raw materials and components to meet manufacturing schedules, managing supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery, and driving cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
- Procurement & Cost Management: Purchasing raw materials/components to meet production schedules; identifying cost-saving initiatives and implementing value engineering.
- Supplier Relationships: Monitoring suppliers, conducting benchmarking, and leading supplier meetings to improve KPIs and resolve issues.
- Process Optimization: Collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Scheduling teams to consolidate suppliers, mitigate risks, and streamline procurement processes.
- Compliance & Reporting: Managing SLAs, Purchase Order schedules, and MRO spend; adhering to Health & Safety policies and company values.
Candidate Profile
- Understanding of procurement in make-to-order environments; experience with MRP/ERP systems; strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Engineering qualification or CIPS certification; familiarity with castings/raw materials procurement.
- Commercial acumen, time management, and ability to lead supplier relationships.
