Job Description
The Business Analyst will be responsible for identifying, defining, and documenting business processes and software requirements to support development efforts. Acting as a bridge between business and IT teams, this individual will facilitate effective communication and ensure that software solutions align with both stated and unstated business needs.
Key responsibilities include leading the requirements gathering process eliciting, validating, and verifying business needs and supporting system enhancements through to production deployment. The ideal candidate should be able to quickly understand new business processes and applications to effectively support the organization.
Essential Functions

Participates both hands-on and guiding 3rd parties / managed services through the software development lifecycle, including generation of functional and technical specifications, documentation of processes, generation and execution of test scripts and management of the change control process.

Support daily operational responsibilities for certain systems and serve as a liaison between business partners and 3rd parties / managed services or other team members in IT for problem resolution.

Work with business partners to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs; understand the customer journey and define and/or validate user requirements

Engage with business partners to influence project decisions; assess risks of various solutions and prioritize competing business demands

Promote architectural consistency and usability standards; define and execute test cases

Understand business needs and convert them to business requirements and functional specifications; ensure business requirements are well described, and documented

Define business process diagrams, testing scenarios and acceptance criteria; provide oversight and guidance to 3rd parties supporting software deployment

Document and translate stakeholder business functions and processes; ensure system design is written as per the needs of the business

Perform system configuration and system testing; provide oversight and guidance to 3rd parties supporting software deployment; engage both developers, application configuration team members and business partners for software deployment

Participate in functionality testing and coordination of user acceptance testing of the new system

Create artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documentation, and process flows.

Support delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions.

Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted; define and execute test cases.

Document current processes and models to understand inefficiencies or gaps.

Provide operational support for software and technical operations; collaborate with 3rd parties and managed service providers to support consistent availability and functionality of systems

Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in related technical / business areas
-
2+ years in a Business Analyst role or similar experience
-
Experience in working with an outsourced delivery model
-
Experience with re-engineering / process improvement
-
Excellent communicator, adept at bridging business and IT teams
-
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify, analyze, and solve business problems
-
Proficient in translating business needs into clear system and operational requirements
-
Skilled in designing functional features and defining detailed user stories
-
Collaborative team player with experience managing vendor and stakeholder relationships
-
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and company operations
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data analysis, reporting, and presentations

Experienced in project and change management with a focus on business impact
-
Highly organized with strong planning and time management abilities
Preferred:

Experience with or knowledge of HR, Legal, Communications, Compliance, Finance and Procurement applications.

Automation / AI experience

Experience with the pharmaceutical industry
Organizational Relationship/Scope:
This position works within an IT function and partners with other IT function professionals and internal business stakeholders as well as external vendors where applicable.
Working Conditions:
Typical office working environment.
Potential travel as required.
