Position Summary:


The Business Planning Analyst is an exciting role that enables the right candidate to directly drive business results through promotional pricing and data analytics. This role will lead promotional execution and reporting to support overarching financial goals. Candidate must have a strong financial acumen and affinity for forecasting. The ability to communicate, manage timelines cross-functionally is also essential for success in this role.


Essential Functions

  • Promotional Price Management:
  • Create and maintain master pricing file for all promotional events
  • Communicate high-level promotional strategies and promo cadence to Inventory Planning & Merchandise teams.
  • Collaborate with team on pricing decisions ensuring that bottoms up style level forecast delivers to top-down targets for each event.
  • Manage executional timeline, schedule meetings to review promo pricing recommendations and execute discount pricing within the pricing system.
  • Provide comprehensive summaries and product lists to Planning, Merchandising, Marketing and Site Operations partners
  • Validate promotional creative assets for all events ensuring pricing and creative are aligned for a seamless customer experience
  • Provide DC forecast on a weekly basis that reflects promotional sales

  • Analysis:
  • Recap promotional events by analyzing discounts, sales lift, and product sales mix. Identify takeaways and recommendations for future events by evaluating effectiveness of offers.
  • Maintain historical promotion event master file – recap of event KPI’s
  • Perform ad-hoc merchant/marketing requests for data analysis and recommendations
  • Support Product Cross Functional Team in creation and formatting of Power BI reporting and dashboards. Goal to automate reporting when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or equivalent experience in related discipline
  • 2+ years prior planning, forecasting experience; retail environment preferred
  • Advanced Excel Skills required. Familiarity with Power Query, SQL, Databases and Power BI appreciated.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, including timeline & process creation and deadline enforcement. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage a lot of detail
  • Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility to change direction when needed.
