As a Business Manager in our Johannesburg office, you'll play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our Sub-Saharan Africa Banking Businesses. Job Summary
As a Business Manager in the Sub-Saharan Africa Banking Businesses, you will support the SSA Investment Banking, Global Corporate Bank, and Payments teams. You will work closely with the Franchise Business Manager and SSA Management team to manage financial reporting, deal cycles, and pipeline management. Your role will involve strategic analysis, project management, and ensuring compliance with corporate objectives. You will be the key point of contact for front office and support functions, helping to achieve business objectives and opportunities.
In this role, you will manage cross-LOB projects, including new system implementations and business initiatives. You will ensure alignment with key control and support functions such as Legal, Compliance, Operations, HR, Audit, and Technology. Your efforts will help maintain an effective control environment and manage business risk. You will also build strong relationships with F&BM colleagues and contribute to the EMEA/Global F&BM agenda.
Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly performance reporting, including revenue, expenses, SVA, and market data analysis.
  • Prepare business performance presentations and reviews.
  • Maintain the deal pipeline and manage client coverage lists.
  • Assist with client onboarding processes and ensure adherence to deal life-cycle controls.
  • Organize client and business events and oversee event budgets.
  • Conduct headcount analysis and partner with Technology for system support.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related Business major.
  • Understanding of Investment Banking and Capital Markets products.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage processes, work independently, and collaborate within a team.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure.

  • Experience in managing complex multi-functional projects.
  • VBA skills
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize requests and demonstrate a customer-focused attitude.
