The Opportunity:
As a Business Insights Digital Specialist, you will be part of an integrated team dedicated to enhancing the data foundation, system capabilities and commercial use cases that drive Caterpillar Energy & Transportation (commercial engine) business insights. You will lead architectural, design, and commercial conversations that improve our data sources, and deliver continuous improvement reporting value to our business partners. This position works across pricing, quote, order, invoice, inventory, forecasting and related data processes using SAP ERP, legacy and third party data sources. You will be transforming a wealth of data into actionable insights to support decision-makers and stakeholders, as you engage in commercial conversations that span across our market industries and internal functional areas.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead data migration to Snowflake, replicate business logic, and create views and tables for Power BI reporting.
• Implement, enhance and maintain Data Warehouse and reporting solutions to ensure data integrity and support process improvements.
• Translate new business requirements into detailed architecture designs in collaboration with commercial teams.
• Align with enterprise architecture on warehouse structure, and documentation.
• Present business insights using data visualization technologies.
• Optimize data models and algorithms for improved analysis effectiveness and accuracy.

Skills Needed:

• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis;
  ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
• Data Architecture: Knowledge of processes, techniques and factors that affect data architecture; ability to design blueprints on how to integrate data resources for business processes and functional support.
• Data Visualization: Expertise in presenting business insights using data visualization technologies like Power BI or Tableau.

Top candidates will have:

• Proven experience in driving business insights, designing, and prototyping dynamic views and visualizations for large and complex data.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts and applications.
• Expertise in analyzing, designing, and implementing business logic in Snowflake for ETL, data modeling, cleansing, and query tuning.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in R, Python programming, and SQL Server.
• At least 1 year of experience with data visualizations in Tableau and Power BI.

Summary Pay Range:
$108,360.00 - $176,040.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
