As the Business Development Manager for LEAF, you lead government sales and development in Europe by building strong end-user relationships and ensuring a seamless government consumer experience by connecting them to our specialty wholesale partners and/or direct channels. You will work with MIL-GOV-LE end-users to understand their needs and engage with internal teams at Arc’teryx to build and execute a business development strategy for the Security and Defence (MIL-GOV-LE) market.


You are accountable for identifying new and long-term business opportunities, developing brand awareness and affinity, and consumer engagement through trade and owned events. You are well connected with the target market and possess a deep understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.


This role can be hired remote. Business operations occur in the CET time zone.

The Arc’teryx PRO & LEAF Sales team is a highly versatile sales and service team within the Commercial Department at Arc’teryx. We are accountable for delivering professional sales through all global channels in alignment with our commercial strategy. We implicitly understand our professional customers’ requirements and provide purpose-built solutions for professionals who rely on our product systems to perform their craft at the highest level. If you were the Business Development Manager - LEAF Europe now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Creating and executing short, medium, and long-term strategic sales plan for growth within the MIL-GOV-LE market in your region
  • Managing Salesforce pipeline for new leads and sales opportunities from Pre-Tender to Closed stages to inform and validate our long-term sales plan
  • Driving brand presence and demand for Arc’teryx LEAF through focused end-user engagement and shaping contract sales early in procurement process
  • Identifying and leading on industry events, unit visits and bespoke ‘owned’ events that create rich environments to showcase the Arc’teryx system of dress with focused end-users
  • Collating and sharing market intelligence with broader LEAF team to help steer product line around emerging and future requirements
  • Traveling throughout your region to foster and maintain strong end-user relationships and ensure our wholesale partners are set up for and realizing success (up to 35% travel commitment)
  • Aligning closely with your Account Management and Operations team to ensure best possible fulfilment and satisfaction for our partners
  • Educating professional end users to understand Arc’teryx LEAF value chain, including design, product development, manufacturing quality, after-sales support, and product specifics to elevate the brand and drive full price sell through with delighted customers
  • Maintaining strong relationships with our strategic and wholesale partners within your region to drive long term contract and new business opportunities into our sales pipeline

  • Working with LEAF Sales and Commercial teams to discover new business opportunities, identify new ways of working, and scale best practices developed with an entrepreneurial approach
  • Work with BDM PRO – Global to begin / expand LEAF wholesale partners’ penetration of the civilian PRO market within your region

Are you our next Business Development Manager - LEAF Europe?

  • You have 5+ years of related experience, specifically selling market-leading apparel or other technical solutions for the MIL-GOV-LE professional
  • You lead in mastery by being an expert in the Security and Defence apparel market
  • You have a clear grasp of complex government and industry structures, contracting and trade regulations, and you keep abreast of current, emerging, and future requirements
  • You have led regional sales and understand the requirements for success
  • You have experience in all planning and execution requirements for exhibiting at Defence and Security trade events
  • You are a strong communicator in both written and verbal communication and can formulate and articulate strategies and concepts
  • You speak English fluently and you are native in French, German or Italian
  • Willingness and availability to travel, and work weekends or holidays, depending on the needs of the business
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and are comfortable dealing with diverse personalities
  • You are a strong advisor with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at a national level
  • You have excellent organizational skills, analytical ability, and a track record of strategic planning
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office
  • You have excellent decision-making skills and are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
