Summary Generated by Built In

Teague works on the frontier of new futures across our entire portfolio – space, defense, aviation, mobility – with advanced and emerging technologies core to each of these industries. The Business Development Director for Advanced Technology will expand Teague’s design and technology offering in emerging technologies like , autonomous systems, robotics, and IOT products. We are looking for a business development leader passionate about emerging technologies, relentless in pursuing new business, and capable of deftly balancing design, technology and business outcomes.

Why We Need This Position

We know that Teague is capable of crafting innovative solutions to clients’ problems, but we need someone who can identify the right problems to solve. Our ideal clients aren’t bringing us products—they’re bringing us problems that ignite our designers’ creativity. This role is for a business development professional who can hunt for opportunities, constantly prospecting and building relationships to introduce Teague to new clients, especially since we are less known in the digital design space. You’ll work to build and maintain a robust lead pipeline while helping to make Teague more well-known among advanced technology leaders and founders. .

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a diligent and experienced business development leader with deep industry knowledge in advanced technology — particularly in areas like robotics, AI, hardware, and industrial automation. You’re adept at recognizing opportunities in this space, identifying the pain points and challenges that companies face, and positioning Teague as the design partner to solve those challenges.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the business development and growth strategy for advanced technology, identifying and pursuing key opportunities within this sector.
  • Constantly prospect, build, and generate leads, establishing relationships that open doors to new business for Teague.
  • Focus on problem-oriented clients who bring challenges that excite our design teams, rather than simply seeking product-driven work.
  • Partner closely with marketing to grow the inbound pipeline, leveraging your network and industry knowledge to boost our visibility.
  • Act as the bridge between clients and Teague’s design teams, translating complex client needs into actionable project briefs. You will bring a solid understanding of design thinking, the iterative process of problem-solving, and user-centered design to the role.
  • Understand the importance of designing solutions that address the real needs of users, helping clients see the value in Teague’s approach to solving user pain points.

What We Just Said, Now in 5 Bullet Points (a.k.a., Essential Qualifications):

  • Experience: Bachelor’s Degree desired; experience at a design or technology consultancy firm preferred; 8+ years of account management and/or business development experience—ideally in the UX/UI industry.
  • Skills: Proven track record in business development, with a demonstrated ability to generate leads, close deals, and build long-term client relationships. Strong communication and negotiation skills, and experience managing complex client engagements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of advanced technology sectors like robotics, AI, IoT, and the ability to spot opportunities for design-driven problem-solving in these areas.
  • Design Expertise: Strong grasp of design thinking and experience working closely with design teams to ensure solutions are user-focused and iterative.
  • Personality: Self-motivated, driven, strategic, and passionate about design’s role in solving complex challenges.

Additional Information:

Travel: This role will require 25-50% travel.

Compensation: The salary range for this job in most US geographic locations is $157,658-$215,038, plus up to 35% SIP/STIP (Sales Incentive Plan/Short Term Incentive Plan) for target performance.
