What You Will Be Doing

As a Business Analyst with Data Lineage experience in the Market Risk team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality, accuracy, and lineage of our data. Your expertise in market risk will be crucial in ensuring compliance with industry standards, improving transparency, and fostering data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data governance teams to assess and enhance our data processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Risk Data Lineage Analysis

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, document, and analyze data lineage across various systems, processes, and platforms, with a focus on market risk data.
  • Map data flows from source to target systems, identifying key touchpoints where data transformations and quality issues may arise, particularly in market risk scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data lineage documentation to improve understanding and traceability of market risk data throughout the organization.

Data Quality Improvement

  • Work with the Data Quality team to define and implement metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks for data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, with an emphasis on market risk data.
  • Identify gaps or issues in the data quality pipeline and recommend improvements or corrective actions, especially those impacting market risk assessments.
  • Gather and document business requirements for data lineage, data quality, and data governance initiatives, focusing on market risk data needs.
  • Create detailed specifications and functional documentation to support business and technical teams in understanding data quality needs and lineage requirements for market risk data.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, data architects, data engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment on data governance practices and quality standards, particularly for market risk data.
  • Ensure that data lineage and quality processes adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies, with a focus on market risk compliance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Data Quality framework and related processes, emphasizing market risk data.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within a banking or financial services environment, with a focus on market risk.
  • Proven experience in data lineage analysis and mapping, including knowledge of data flow documentation and tools, particularly for market risk data.
  • Experience working on data quality initiatives, including defining metrics, performing data profiling, and resolving data issues, with an emphasis on market risk data.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts, frameworks, and industry best practices, especially those related to market risk.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, databases and data modeling, with a focus on market risk data.
  • Hands-on experience with data lineage tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation, or similar) is highly desirable, particularly for market risk data.
  • Familiarity with data management platforms and technologies in a banking or financial institution environment, with a focus on market risk.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry, specifically with data governance, regulatory requirements, or risk management, with an emphasis on market risk.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239, MiFID II) related to data management, particularly those impacting market risk.
