The Group: The Wealth Management Solutions group builds solutions and capabilities that enable financial advisors to deliver compliant and comprehensive financial advice so that their retail clients and investors meet their goals. The solutions leverage Morningstar's extensive data and research capabilities across all stages of financial advice making the advice process compliant, efficient and effective.
The Role: The Morningstar Wealth Platform team is looking for an execution-focused Business Analyst. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the financial wealth and advice industry. The role requires working closely with end-clients and product development teams.
The Business Analyst will collaborate with relevant local and offshore teams to gather & analyse requirements, be a conduit between business stakeholders and technology teams. Effectively translate business requirements to functional specifications and be adept at Agile practises. You will work closely with the product owner on backlog items, and to roadmap quarterly deliveries. The tech team will look upon you as an ideal support and point of contact. In this role, you will take ownership of the platform and evolve into an application expert. This is a role for someone who's reliable, likes to take the lead and seeks a clear career progression path.
Responsibilities:

  • Gather product requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and design and implement solutions
  • Map user journeys and process flows
  • Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
  • Work closely with clients, developers, and managerial staff
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to help resolve queries


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of work experience in funds management, wealth management or personal investments
  • MBA/MSc/Business Analysis or Product/Project Manager certification
  • Excellent communication; written and spoken english, problem-solving mindset, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Meticulous and attentive to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate with local and international teams.


Human skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A team player's attitude with a high threshold for quality.


Other things that would be useful to have, but not necessary:

  • Financial services experience is a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel)
