Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to support our Product Manager in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) within the Data, Digital, and Technology (DD&T) department. This role focuses on assisting the Product Manager in implementing and optimizing LIMS to manage blood plasma testing from donor collection centers across the US and EU. Additionally, the Business Analyst will serve as a backup to the Product Manager during absences, ensuring continuity and smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
Requirement Analysis & Documentation:
- Collaborate with the Product Manager and stakeholders to gather and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements for LIMS.
- Analyze laboratory workflows and processes to ensure alignment with system capabilities and compliance with regional regulations.
User Story Development:
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team.
- Ensure user stories are clearly defined, actionable, and aligned with the product roadmap.
Process Mapping & Standardization:
- Develop and document standardized workflows and processes across US and EU labs, considering regional differences.
- Assist in creating process flow diagrams and use cases to guide development and testing teams.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Perform data analysis to support decision-making processes and identify trends or issues related to LIMS implementation.
- Generate reports and dashboards that provide insights into system performance and user adoption.
Support Product Development:
- Collaborate closely with the development team to clarify requirements and assist in translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment between the business and development teams.
- Engage in moderate development work, including scripting, to support system customization, data integration, and automation tasks as needed.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between the Product Manager, technical teams, and laboratory stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project goals.
- Prepare and deliver presentations or reports to stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and issues.
Testing & Validation Support:
- Assist in developing and executing test plans, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to ensure that the LIMS meets quality and performance standards.
- Document and track defects or issues identified during testing and collaborate with the development team to resolve them.
Training & Documentation:
- Develop user guides, training materials, and other documentation to support LIMS adoption across different regions.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users and provide ongoing support to ensure effective system usage.
- Develop comprehensive and accurate documentation throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to support project delivery.
Regulatory Compliance Support:
- Work closely with the Product Manager to ensure that all system requirements comply with relevant regulations, including CLIA, FDA, and EMA.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes and assist in updating system documentation and processes as necessary.
Product Manager Backup:
- Act as a backup to the Product Manager during their absence, ensuring that project activities continue smoothly, and stakeholders are informed of progress.
- Make informed decisions in the Product Manager's absence, maintaining alignment with the overall product vision and strategy.
Development Work:
- Engage in development tasks that include utilizing PowerShell, VB.net, Crystal Reports, and AWS. Ensure that all development efforts support easy data interpretation and meet business objectives.
Additional Job Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- 5+ years of experience in a laboratory or healthcare sector.
- Experience with the following laboratory equipment is desirable: Roche Cobas p512, Abbott Alinity, Roche Cobas 6800/8800, Sebia Capillarys.
- Familiarity with LIMS systems, particularly StarLIMS, and Data Innovations' Instrument Manager is a plus.
- Ability to engage in moderate development work, including scripting, is required.
- Experience with PowerShell, VB.net, Crystal Reports, and AWS is desirable.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements such as CLIA, FDA, and EMA is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable technical requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across different regions.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
84,000.00 - 132,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
