Join us as a Business & Accounting Rules Lead
- In this role, you’ll support our delivery of end to end financial control activity, proactively establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with key customers and stakeholders across Finance, as well as our Oracle Cloud product partners
- Manage and lead the team responsible for analysis and design solutions for a wide range of finance systems, processes and operational accounting and have end to end ownership for systems and operational accounting models for Finance

What you'll do
As a Business & Accounting Rules Lead, you'll represent Finance at senior governance boards and ensure the interests of Finance are articulated and understood. Acting as a principal design consultant, you'll deliver options to address Finance and Treasury project requirements and recommend a preferred solution, systems architectural design or process design.
Through the course of your work, you’ll:
- Assist in establishing, documenting and following operating procedures which include controls to meet policy requirements
- Act as a key partner, proactively contributing to decision making on complex or specialist issues, demonstrating judgement and a thorough understanding of the business
- Review business proposals and projects to make sure that all accounting considerations are captured and implemented
- Use in-depth technical knowledge of transaction and product systems to support the development and design of robust, fit for purpose accounting solutions
- Manage and deliver data and system solutions change executed within the appropriate governance framework to maintain data integrity and data quality standards throughout the change process, through effective engagement with key stakeholders
- Explore and recommend architectural, process and operational accounting options whilst understanding the macro change environment.
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring previous financial control experience, preferably gained in a global financial services environment and have experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a changing environment. You'll also have experience in developing operating models, operational accounting and systems architecture solutions, drawing on specific development skills and wider system experience, and demonstrate practical experience in developing and documenting end to end accounting models.
We’ll also look to you to bring:
- A professional accounting qualification, or significant relevant experience
- Up to date knowledge of accounting standards
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement activities
- The ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with a variety of key stakeholders and customers across the bank and geographical locations to influence and challenge as required
- Detailed knowledge of end to end accounting models from source platforms to the General Ledger
