The Strategic Services Operations Specialist- Liquid Bulk will possess experience or the capacity to undergo training as an operations expert in liquid bulk and hazmat services. This role will play a pivotal part in the day-to-day operations, including quoting and routing specialty freight services, ensuring top-notch customer service, tracing all shipments. Additionally, this position will provide essential support to the Strategic Sales team in securing new business. This position will report to the Strategic Sales Manager- Hazmat & Drayage.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of IEL’s sales process, as well as regulations/compliance for hazmat and liquid bulk freight.
- Conduct daily check calls, offer customer updates as required, and manage internal and external information systems effectively.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns.
- Cultivate and nurture new relationships with carriers to expand IEL’s Liquid Bulk and Hazmat coverage.
- Establish partnerships with liquid bulk carriers, including negotiating rates, facilitating onboarding, and ensuring compliance.
- Provide assistance with invoicing and AP processes when necessary.
- Demonstrate subject matter knowledge of all solutions provided by the Company in all customer and prospective customer interactions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of transportation operations experience.
- Demonstrated track record of at least 3 years in customer service roles.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Self-starter with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Direct experience working at a liquid bulk carrier or brokerage.
- Experience with liquid bulk and hazmat operations and compliance.
- Hazmat Certified.
