The Position
This position will learn, and gain skills related to maintenance and repair of pharmaceutical manufacturing buildings and grounds to develop into skilled Building Service Technician. The Building Service Trainee will shadow and support their assigned mentor and other members of the Building Services team, as assigned, as they perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds. As the Building Service Trainee gains training and skills through OJT and classroom learning they will begin to respond to building service requests.
Building Services Trainee work schedule - Monday through Thursday (4-day work week) 6:30am - 5:00pm.

Reports to: Site Services Supervisor
Number of subordinates with direct/indirect referral: n/a
Essential Functions
- Shadow mentor as they complete on the job-related tasks
- Successful and timely completion of on-the-job training and classroom training associated with assigned Facilities Maintenance area
- At the direction of a Senior team member or supervisor, support trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of facilities related systems
- Perform daily checks on assigned systems
- Complete training and demonstrate ability to work with in the Maintenance Management System ensuring all scheduled tasks are completed on time and in compliance with related SOPs and GMP requirements
- Demonstrate increased skills and knowledge in performing assigned area repairs
- Complete all paperwork in a GMP compliant manner
- Other duties as assigned
- Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes
- Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others
Qualifications
- Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with one (1) year work experience in maintenance, trades, construction, military or applicable industry required
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Possess basic reading, math, and comprehension skills
- Ability to work with a group and independently
- Exposure to use of hand tools
- Basic mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements
The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, vibration, inside and outside conditions including temperature changes, extreme cold, and extreme heat; proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The working environment frequently includes close quarters and narrow aisles or passageways. Local travel: 0-5%.
