We are looking for an experienced Bookeeper for our London office. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritising tasks in a challenging and commercial environment.
As a part of the finance department, the appointed person will carry out bookkeeping and accounting.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Bookkeeping and preparing bank reconciliations and controls.
- Processing of purchase invoices, supplier payments and remittances and liaising with suppliers.
- Maintaining customers’ accounting records and reconciliations. Dealing with queries from suppliers and customers.
- Preparing and posting journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and month end control reconciliations.
- Preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists.
- Intrastate reporting.
- Preparing monthly management reports.
- Assisting business development team with data analysis.
Other Duties:
- Office admin
- Assisting with basic tax compliance matters
- Attendance at other Parker Lane offices, as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education to a minimum of A Level/GNVQ or equivalent
- English and Maths GCSE’s grade A-C, or overseas equivalent.
- Qualifications: AAT desirable
- Fresher/1 year experience in a bookkeeping and/or accounting role
- Knowledge of regulations governing exports and imports from/to the UK essential
- Good working knowledge of VAT/Intrastat and EC Sales Lists
- Knowledge of XERO accounting software is preferable
- Good level of IT knowledge and skills
