The Role
The Billing and Accounting Specialist will manage Gridmatic Retail’s invoices and billing and ensure the accruals and payments are updated daily in Gridmatic’s ERP and vendor payment software. will prepare financial records of at least two legal entities. This person will work with Retail Operations and Portfolio team members to ensure all invoices, sales tax, commissions, vendor payments are appropriately recorded and paid, as applicable. The person will also work with Finance & Accounting team and provide all necessary daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations of cash received and income recorded.
This role is a 6 month contract role with the potential for full-time conversion. We anticipate the role to be 20-25 hours per week of work.
What you might work on:
- Record and maintain Gridmatic Retail’s daily financial transactions in QBO online
- Record and maintain monthly accruals of income and expenses
- Prepare financials in QBO
- Assist Finance & Accounting group in paying and managing vendor payments through bill.com
- Maintain mapping of billing accounts from QBO to Billing software
- Assist Retail Operations group in recording sales invoices and payments
- Process and maintain aging accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and broker accounts, as applicable
- Assist with year-end 1099 filings
- Assist with sales tax, GRT & applicable state tax payments and returns, as needed
- Working with external vendors and other members of Finance & Accounting team
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, as applicable
You might be a good fit if you:
- 2-3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-starter with excellent judgment, integrity, reliability and competency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in QBO & Bill.com
- Knowledge of energy markets and customer billing and receipts is required
- Bachelors in Finance, accounting or similar; CPA is a plus but not required
- Basic understanding of the GAAP financial statements
- Experience with VertexOne a plus
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards; tax and industry regulations a plus
- Project management experience is a plus
