The BI Data Engineer is responsible for interaction between business & IT, supports the transformation to a Digital organization. Esko is currently transforming to a SaaS company, they are looking for a solid BI Data Engineer to join their Business Applications team and to help them build a data-driven company.
As a BI Data Engineer, you will make sure that the right tools and processes are in place to transform the legacy reporting systems to new state-of-the-art analytic and reporting tools in the best possible way.
This role will be on Hybrid model.
In this role, a typical day will look like:

You will take ownership in designing, maintaining, and optimizing data infrastructure for data collection, data management, data transformation and data access.

You are the connection between our data analysts and technical developers

You ensure that our data setup and quality is according to the standards
-
You can validate data models
-
You can investigate existing solutions and make technical documentation
The essential requirements of the job include:
-
8+ years of general experience in BI implementation and technical analysis
-
5+ Experience building, maintaining and optimizing ETL pipelines and to automate data workflows
-
5+ years of experience in enabling business intelligence and machine learning workflows
-
5+ years of experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.
-
5+ years of experience in collaborating with data analysts, data scientists and other stakeholders
-
8+ years of experience in designing and managing relational databases (SQL, MySql, SQL server, … versions 2008 and later)
-
Strong knowledge of Python and PySpark
-
Experience to optimize database performance and indexing
-
Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines for code deployment. Preferable Azure Devops
-
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and leading a BI setup using Microsoft Fabric, using notebooks and datalakes to build up a semantic datamodel on which Power BI reports can be built.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field of study. Master’s degree preferred.

Communication skills to talk to the various stakeholders and to establish and maintain effective business relationships with business units and other associates (excellent influencing skills)

Documentation skills to document the current/new setup.

Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively both orally and in writing

Proactive attitude, i.e., ‘avoid’ rather than ‘react’
