We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join one of our cross-functional Agile development teams. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to build scalable, high-quality software while continuously improving our systems and processes.
Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, a sense of ownership, and a passion for building reliable and efficient backend systems. You will have opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility based on your experience and contributions.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and optimize backend systems that solve complex problems with simple, scalable solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Debug and troubleshoot production issues to maintain system reliability.
- Contribute to the development of APIs and services, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with teammates through code reviews and technical discussions.
- Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to the evolution of our platform.
- Improve observability, monitoring, and system performance.
- Take ownership of features, modules, or systems, driving technical improvements and reducing technical debt.
- Engage with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years experience in backend or full-stack software development, with a track record of delivering high-quality software.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Go, C#, Java, Kotlin, Rust).
- Knowledge of software design patterns and API development (REST, gRPC).
- Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to write and review technical documentation.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, Agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have, but not required:
- Experience with Golang.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of AdTech or experience in a similar domain.
