JOB SUMMARY: The AVP/Vice President, Portfolio Management, Lender Finance, is responsible for managing credit risk for the Lender Finance portfolio at Forbright Bank. This position monitors loan performance, identifies potential issues, and minimizes the risk of loss for the Bank. The primary responsibility is to manage and oversee the portfolio management of assigned loans and investments originated by the Lender Finance team. The Portfolio Managers works with the Lender Finance team to ensure the portfolio of loans and investments are being closely monitored and all portfolio management actions are being undertaken as required. The AVP/Vice President also contributes to portfolio reporting requirements to ensure accurate and timely portfolio reports are prepared

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor operating performance, financial condition, and credit risk for assigned borrowers to proactively identify issues and resolve problems in a timely effective manner
  • Act as a primary daily point of contact with assigned borrowers to ensure compliance with loan agreements and monitor borrowers’ performance levels
  • Oversee daily needs of borrowers to ensure borrower funding requests are fulfilled
  • Analyze borrowing bases on revolving loans and draw requests on delayed draw term loans
  • Create, prepare, and update loan tracking information reports to be shared with and analyzed by the Lender Finance team and executive team of the Bank
  • Effectively communicate identified credit risks and recommended actions to the Lender Finance managing directors
  • Ensure that required borrower reporting received on a timely basis
  • Perform financial analysis on reporting provided by borrowers, tracking trends, and developments which may impact loan performance
  • Complete the risk rating, criticized asset management, and review processes for assigned borrowers
  • Ensure loan documentation and credit files for assigned loans are updated and maintained in a timely fashion in the Bank's internal document retention system, in compliance with internal procedures and banking guidelines
  • Complete special projects and other duties on an as needed basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 6-8 years (AVP) or 8-12 years (VP) of lending, credit risk management or portfolio management experience with a commercial finance company or bank required
  • Acute attention to detail with the ability to think critically and independently
  • Comfortable with quickly raising potential, material issues and negative trend to the Specialty Lending management team as soon as identified
  • Willingness to learn how to read and interpret loan and legal documentation
  • Well-developed organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize work, with priorities changing throughout the week
  • Exceptional attitude and commitment to teamwork
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, with a willingness to learn analysis techniques and methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including casually socializing with others on customary video/phone calls
  • Understanding of accounting and finance matters with a willingness to learn additional topics relevant to Specialty Finance
  • High proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Travel: 20% travel to clients and internal portfolio meetings required as needed (1-2 multi-day trip a month)

The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. $120,000 (entry level qualifications) to $175,000 (highly experienced).
